Beliefs

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ was the son of God, came to earth in human form, without human father, through birth from the virgin Mary. He freely took upon himself our nature yet was without sin. His substitutionary death made atonement for all the sins of those who believe. He has risen from the dead, ascended to heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for the believer.
(Matthew 1:20-21, Hebrews 4:14-15)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
(John 16:7-13, 1 Corinthians 2:12, Ephesians 1:13, 5:18)

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, and is therefore the truth of God without error. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

Creation

We believe in the literal account of the creation of the world as written in Genesis 1. Creation was a creative work of God without evolutionary process and all men are descended from Adam and Eve, the first parents to the entire human race. (Genesis 1 & 2, Colossians 1:16-17, John 1:3)

Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God, through Jesus Christ, and is given by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. It is brought about by the Holy Spirit working in the heart of a sinner by producing repentance and faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7)

Our Staff

Head Pastor & Youth Pastor

Jonathan Purdy has served as our Youth Pastor since 2006 and became our Head Pastor in April 2022. Jonathan is married to Amber and together they have 3 boys - one married, one in college, and one in high school. He is a 2002 graduate of Cedarville University.

Children's Director

Faith Ferguson has served as the leader of our children's outreach program-- KidzJam-- since 2016. She is in charge of our children's Sunday schools, children's church, and outreach events. Faith is a 2022 graduate of Cedarville University. She is using her degree in Early Childhood Education serving in a full time position as a teacher.

Worship Leader

Amber Purdy has served on the worship team at MBC for the past 15 years. She currently serves as the worship leader and oversees our worship & tech teams. Amber is married to our pastor, Jonathan. She is a 2002 graduate of Cedarville University.

Pastor Scott faithfully served as our pastor until he went to be with the Lord in April, 2022.
